Government pressure on journalists suppresses vaccine debate

The UK government is putting relentless pressure on journalists not to portray any vaccines in a negative way for fear being accused of causing harm. Any journalist questioning the safety of any vaccines or challenging the Department of Health vaccine policy is accused of being irresponsible and putting children's lives at risk. This is tantamount to state suppression of the freedom of speech. I see parents week in and week out at BabyJabs who are delighted to have the opportunity to have a calm and rational conversation about the pros and cons of vaccinating their child against a specific disease without being bullied and patronised which, sadly, is all too often their experience on the NHS. Thankfully there are still some journalists who are not afraid to be critical of government vaccine policy such as Lucy Johnstone with her article in the Sunday Express.
